Youth Work

There are a number of initiatives within our parishes to spread God's word out to children and young people.  These can be explored in more detail on the various tabs from here.

All Age services

Although known by different names in different churches - perhaps a family service or worship for all - they take place in four of our churches and are all designed to be easily accessible to everyone. Children are encouraged to take part wherever possible and nobody will mind if a baby cries or a child calls out an untimely heckle!

Open the Book

Five of our churches have "Open the Book" teams who regularly visit their local primary school and bring Bible stories to life for the children at assembly time. These are often organised jointly with our Methodist friends.

Messy Church

Two of our churches run regular "Messy Church" for local families, and a third group will be launched in September.  This is a popular innovation which is currently growing. It is often organised jointly with our friends at the Methodist chapels.

Sunday School

Only one of our churches currently runs a regular Sunday School. That is at St Piran's, Perran-ar-Worthal.

Holiday Club

St Piran's in Perran-ar-Worthal also run an annual holiday club in the first week of August.

Connection with schools

We have regular contact with all the primary schools within our Cluster including Cusgarne, Chacewater, Devoran, St Day, Perran-ar-Worthal, St Day and Stithians.  This may be through assemblies, open the book, festivals or after school club.  At Chacewater we run an after school on Wednesdays.  Dom is a Governor at Devoran School and Elly is a Governor at Redruth School.

Other Youth Work

You can find details of other youth work going on in our Cluster here.  If you know of anything missing, or can think of suggestions which could be tried, we are always open to new ideas.  Please let us know via the "contact us" page.
