St Wenappa, Gwennap

Welcome to the Parish

Church of St Wenappa

Church Lane, Gwennap, TR16 6BD

The ancient church of St. Wenappa is situated off all main roads. We are, however, only a short walk from the Fox and Hounds at Comford on the Falmouth/Redruth Road.

Gwennap is a hamlet of about 20 houses with the church at its centre, but the parish boundaries spreads over a much wider geographical area. There is a separate bell tower with six bells which are rung for services, weddings if required, and on Thursday evenings its practice night. The hall is a cheerful and well equipped building used by both church and community for parties, lunches and evening events, including the monthly meeting of the Gwennap Horticultural Society. Find the hall here on Facebook.

The bells are rung before each service and refreshments are served afterwards. Although our congregation is mostly older, there are several young families who join us when they are able.

Visitors say they are given a warm and friendly welcome. We just love to have them!

Regular Services at St Wenappa

St Wenappa will be open for private prayer on Wednesdays and Sundays, 10am-4pm. We are starting to cautiously open our churches for public worship, but for now there is just one service of Holy Communion on 19th July 2020. We continue to hold our community in our prayers at this time, and if you need to speak to a priest please contact Richard.
